The CRS Sleepliner parked in the paddock

What it is

A race transporter CRS built to sleep in: the CRS Sleepliner. Private cabins with a real bed, each with its own toilet and shower, parked where the racing is: in the paddock, beside the garages, a walk from the pit wall.

Why a bed in the paddock

A hotel twenty minutes away costs more than the room rate.

  • The morning Sighting laps and briefings happen early. Sleeping on site is the difference between arriving warmed up and arriving having driven.
  • The evening The useful conversation about your day happens when the track has gone quiet and someone opens a laptop. That conversation ends when people have to drive.
  • Your kit Leathers, helmet, boots and data stay ten metres from the bike instead of in a car park, and dry overnight instead of in a hotel bathroom.
  • The weather A wet session leaves you with everything soaked and two hours before the next one. On site that is a problem you can solve.
  • After a day on track Riding is tiring in a way that is easy to underestimate, and an hour behind the wheel afterwards is the part nobody plans for.

Inside

  • The cabins A proper bed rather than a bunk, with room to keep your kit and hang your leathers. The bed is a double, so two people travelling together can share a cabin.
  • Your own bathroom Every cabin has its own toilet and shower. Nothing shared, nothing to queue for, no walk across the paddock at night.
  • Where it stands In the paddock itself, as close to the garages as the circuit allows. You wake up where you are riding.
  • Built rather than bought CRS converted and finished this vehicle themselves, down to the livery. The Sleepliner was built for their own riders first, which is why it is a transporter with real cabins in it rather than a bus with beds added.

Who hires it

You do not have to be riding with CRS. Between CRS events the unit is available on its own.

  • Race teams A team running its own weekend, who would rather keep riders and crew at the circuit than split them across hotels in three towns.
  • Organisers Someone running an event who needs their own people to sleep on site — marshals, timing, medical, the people who are there before the gates open.
  • Manufacturers and brands A launch, a press day or a test where guests need somewhere to change, sit down and stay over without leaving the circuit.
  • Riders bringing people A rider whose partner or family is coming along, and who would rather that meant a cabin in the paddock than a hotel and a hire car.

Where it goes

The Sleepliner travels to CRS events at Spa-Francorchamps, Jerez, Valencia, Portimão, Mugello, Misano, Dijon-Prenois and Le Mans, so the routes and the paperwork for those circuits are familiar ground. It is not limited to them. Tell us where your event is and we will tell you whether it can be there.

How it works

  • 1. You send the dates The form below asks when, where, and how we reach you. Two minutes, and nothing is booked by sending it.
  • 2. CRS comes back With whether it is free on those dates and what it costs for that event. If it is not free, you will hear that straight away rather than after a week.
  • 3. The rest is agreed with you Getting it there, access to the paddock, and what happens on arrival depend on the circuit and the event, so they are settled per booking rather than promised here.

The practical part

What a hire involves, in short.

  • What it costs The price depends on your dates and your event. Send the form below and CRS replies with the price and the availability.
  • Getting it there How it reaches your event, and what that involves, is agreed with you per booking.
  • The driver Who drives the Sleepliner to your event is agreed per booking, together with the rest of getting it there. Mention it when you send your dates and the answer comes back with the price.
  • Deposit and cancellation Payment terms, any deposit and the cancellation conditions come with the price, before anything is booked.
  • When it is free It is at CRS events for much of the season. Tell us your dates and we will tell you straight away whether it is available.
