Questions
Experience Track Riding: your questions
What the programme includes, the level it asks of you, and how a day on the circuit actually runs.
What it is about
What exactly is Crazy Racing Sensations?
Crazy Racing Sensations puts you at the heart of the action on the legendary circuits of Europe: Spa-Francorchamps, Portimão, Jerez, Misano, Mugello, Le Mans, Dijon and Valencia. You ride the sessions of an established track-day organiser, coached by CRS's own instructors, with everything around the riding taken care of: your entry with the organiser, the bike, technical support, catering and a bed in the paddock.
It is built for enthusiasts who want to live the day-to-day life of a race rider without arranging the logistics themselves. The atmosphere before and after the sessions, the paddock, the shared meals and the debriefs are as much part of it as the riding.
What is the difference between Experience Track Riding and Bring Your Own Bike?
Experience Track Riding includes everything except your riding gear. You ride our Ducati race bikes, with professional coaching, technical support, all-in catering, insurance and an overnight stay in our paddock suites. Everything is handled from start to finish; you bring your own riding gear (CRS can provide it on request), and travel to and from the circuit is up to you.
Bring Your Own Bike is track access with your own motorcycle, including CRS support: check-in, briefing, planning and a contact person in the paddock, and a reserved place for your bike and equipment in the CRS pit box. Your entry with the organiser of the day is included: CRS enters you, so you deal with CRS alone. Catering, transport, technical support and individual coaching are chosen separately as options.
What is included in Experience Track Riding?
Experience Track Riding covers everything from the moment you arrive, except your riding gear:
- A Ducati race bike, fully prepared for the event
- Professional coaching, evaluation and technical support
- All-in catering throughout the day
- An overnight stay in a paddock suite with private toilet and shower
- Photo and video coverage of every session
- Insurance and support from start to finish
You bring your own riding gear: leathers, helmet, gloves and boots are personal and bought to fit you. CRS can provide gear on request: ask for it when you book. Travel to and from the circuit is not included.
On the circuit, the track-day organiser's insurance applies. For the CRS race bike you leave a damage deposit: given the racing nature of the bike, you forfeit it at the slightest damage, whatever the cause, and if the damage costs more than the deposit, CRS can claim the difference. The cover is limited: you are liable for damage you cause, whether deliberately or by accident. The details are in our general terms.
Before you book
How much riding experience do I need?
No experience is needed: you do not need to have ridden on a circuit before, let alone raced. On Experience Track Riding a CRS coach works with you one-on-one, starts from your level and gives you personal feedback after each session.
The track days CRS joins are open to all levels, and the organiser groups riders by pace, so you share the track with riders at your speed. What you do need is a valid motorcycle licence (category A) and the willingness to follow the briefings and your coach. If it turns out you lack the bike control to ride safely, your coach can stop you from riding. Unsure whether an event suits you? Tell us what you have ridden so far and we will advise you honestly.
Do I need a motorcycle licence, and is there a minimum age?
Yes, a valid motorcycle licence (category A) is required. You show it when you register, as our general terms set out. We may also ask about your riding experience, your circuit history or a racing licence.
Participants must be at least 18 years old, and your date of birth is requested when you book. Bring your identity card or passport and your motorcycle licence to check-in.
If you are unsure whether an event suits your level, tell us briefly what you have ridden and we will give you an honest recommendation.
How does booking work, and what happens next?
Everything goes through the online booking, for both Experience Track Riding and Bring Your Own Bike. Choose your event on the events page, choose what you want to book, and follow four steps:
- Event: your day or days, and any options.
- Your details: name, address, date of birth, e-mail address and phone number, plus a company name and VAT number if the invoice goes to a business.
- Your account: sign in with your CRS password, or confirm your e-mail address with a code we send you.
- Confirm: check the summary and the terms, and confirm.
Once you continue past the first step, your place is held for 60 minutes and a countdown shows the time left. If it runs out, the place goes back on sale and you simply start again. Nothing is booked until you confirm; from then on the booking is binding and you receive an invoice with the payment details.
You then receive a confirmation e-mail with your reference and a short rider form to fill in. CRS enters you with the organiser of your date and sends you the practical information, including the organiser's rules for the day.
How do I pay, and what if I have to cancel?
All prices on the site are per person and include VAT. You can book as a private individual or as a business, with a company name and VAT number, which we use for invoicing.
You receive an invoice with the payment details and pay it by bank transfer; there is no down payment. Pay within 14 days of confirming your booking; your confirmation e-mail and your invoice give the exact date. If your event starts within 14 days of booking, payment is due the day before the event; if you book the day before the event or later, you pay straight away. Your booking is binding as soon as you confirm it, and your place is final once we have received payment in full. Because your booking is for a fixed date, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply. If the invoice is not paid on time, CRS may cancel the booking.
To cancel, let us know in writing or by e-mail at info@crs-racing.com. What you get back depends on how long before the event you cancel:
- More than 30 days before: a full refund
- 20 to 30 days before: 50% back
- 14 to 20 days before: 20% back
- Less than 14 days before: no refund
Moving to another date, or passing your place to someone else, is only possible if agreed in writing with CRS beforehand.
If force majeure, such as extreme weather, forces CRS to cancel or change an event, CRS refunds what you have paid where possible, or proposes an alternative; there is no further compensation. The details are in our general terms.
The track day itself is run by its organiser, and the organiser's rules apply on the day. Once you book, CRS tells you which organiser runs your date and what its rules are.
Can I book for a group, a company or as a gift?
Not yet: group bookings, company events and gift vouchers are coming later. For now each rider books their own place online, so friends who want to ride together each book the same date.
You can already have the invoice made out to your company: give its name and VAT number when you book. Questions about riding as a group or giving a day on track? Contact us at info@crs-racing.com or +32 475 45 21 96.
On the day
Which bike do I ride, and what equipment do I bring myself?
On Experience Track Riding you ride the latest Ducati superbikes: 214 hp at 13,000 rpm, 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, prepared and maintained to race standards.
Your riding gear is not included in the price: leathers, helmet, gloves and boots are personal and bought to fit you, so you bring your own. CRS can provide gear on request: ask for it when you book.
Whatever you wear, our general terms ask for approved and complete safety gear: a helmet, protective clothing, motorcycle boots and gloves, and preferably a back protector. An airbag vest is strongly recommended, but not mandatory unless CRS or the circuit requires one. Without the right gear, CRS may refuse you access to the track, so if you are unsure about yours, contact us before your date.
On Bring Your Own Bike you ride your own bike in your own gear, and the same rules apply.
How are safety and instruction organised?
Safety comes before speed. Each track day is run by its organiser together with the circuit: the safety briefing, the marshals, race control and the groups by pace are theirs, and the organiser's rules apply to every rider on the day. CRS adds what the organiser does not: we ask your level before you arrive, and your coach (always on Experience Track Riding, as an option on Bring Your Own Bike) works closely with you. On Experience Track Riding, you ride in your own protective gear, or in gear CRS provides on request.
Instruction is led by experienced professionals, including our own Benelux Supersport champion Bram Lambrechts. The coaching covers riding technique, safety and racing strategy, and with a coach you receive personal feedback after each session. The aim is not only to make you faster, but to make you a safer and more insightful rider.
Is my riding filmed and photographed?
Yes. Photographers and videographers are on site throughout the event, from the start line to the chequered flag.
The footage serves two purposes. During the event, instructors use it to review your lines and technique with you and to show where time is being lost. Afterwards, the high-quality photos and video are yours to keep and to share.
Photo and video coverage is included in Experience Track Riding. On Bring Your Own Bike, video analysis is part of the individual coaching option.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Events go ahead in the rain. Riding in the wet is part of circuit life, and Spa-Francorchamps in particular is known for its changing conditions. The wet is also where you learn the most about throttle control and lines. If you ride with a coach, they adapt the plan and the pace to the conditions.
If conditions become unsafe, the organiser of the day and the circuit can stop a session. That call is theirs, not CRS's: on safety, the circuit always has the last word. As our general terms set out, CRS is not liable for the circuit's decisions or for schedule changes beyond its control, so track time lost to the weather is not refunded. If a session is stopped, we tell you on the spot how the rest of the day runs.
If extreme weather forces CRS to cancel or change the event itself, CRS refunds what you have paid where possible, or proposes an alternative.
Practical
What is a combi package, and how long do events last?
Events run from a single day to three days on the same circuit. On Experience Track Riding your stay in the paddock is included, whether you ride a Single Day or the Full Programme.
A combi package links several events into one booking, for example Dijon, Le Mans and Mugello in the same summer, or the full Jerez week between Christmas and New Year. Together the parts add up to as many as seven days on track. The combi's own page lists each part with its dates and circuit. Combi packages are currently offered as Bring Your Own Bike. The events page shows the exact dates and prices.
Where do I stay, and can someone come with me?
Whether you ride a Single Day or the Full Programme, you sleep in the paddock, in our own units, each with a private toilet and shower. That keeps you a few steps from the track and among the other riders, with a quiet place to withdraw to when you want one.
You can bring a plus one. That person does not take part in the on-track activities, but attends the full event, shares the all-in catering and stays with you in the paddock suite in a shared double bed. Travel to and from the circuit is arranged by you.
How do I reach you if my question is not answered here?
Talk to us directly. Specific needs, extra guidance, or unsure which option suits you best: we would rather answer beforehand than have you guess.
